Roll back changes

Put your site back the way it was — Lanlan keeps your recent published versions.

Every time your site is published, Lanlan saves a copy of that version. If a change goes wrong, you can put an earlier one back.

Which versions you can restore

Lanlan lists up to your 20 most recent published versions. Of those, you can always restore:

  • Free sites: the newest 5, plus about one per day for the older ones.
  • Pro sites: the newest 10, plus about one per day for the older ones.

Versions that weren't kept show No snapshot in the list. Only published versions are saved: changes you never published can't be restored from here.

Undo one small change

For something Lanlan did a moment ago, ask in Tell Lanlan:

  • "Undo that."
  • "Go back to how the headline was before."

Lanlan changes it back from what it did in the conversation. For changes you made yourself on the page, use the editor's Undo button, while you're still on that page. For anything bigger, restore an earlier version. Change words and pictures yourself.

Restore an earlier version

Ask Lanlan: "Restore the version from yesterday morning." Lanlan lists recent versions, checks which one you mean, and restores it.

Or do it yourself:

  1. Open Snapshots in your dashboard — it's under More in the sidebar. The page is called Version History.
  2. Find the version you want, by date and time, and press Restore.
  3. Type the version's time to confirm.

Restoring puts back the site's pages and styles as they were, and builds them as a new version. If your site publishes automatically, it's live a few seconds later. If your site waits for you to publish, the restored version becomes your draft: check it in Tell Lanlan, then press Publish.

Changed your mind?

A restore doesn't delete anything. The version you replaced is still in the list, so you can restore it again.

What a restore doesn't change

  • Pictures, videos, fonts and other files. They aren't part of the saved versions, so a picture you deleted isn't brought back.
  • Collections, live data and form messages. These are kept separately and aren't affected.
