A starter pack of phrases that work well when asking Claude to build, change, or fix things on your Lanlan site.

Each example is one phrasing that works — not the only one. Claude is forgiving, so treat these as starting points, not magic words.

Getting expert help

If you want a thoughtful design direction before anything is built, ask for a design consultation. A small team of industry experts will walk you through the decisions.

Building

  • "Build me a one-page site for my dog-walking business in West Oakland."
  • "Add an About page, a Services page, and a Contact page."
  • "Add a contact form to the home page with name, email, and message."
  • "Make a gallery page with twelve image slots arranged in a three-column grid."
  • "Set up a blog. I want to write about coffee."

Changing the look

  • "Make the headline shorter."
  • "Make the whole site feel calmer — more white space, softer fonts."
  • "Make my typography more like newyorker.com."
  • "Change the accent color to a deep forest green."
  • "Move the contact form from the home page to its own page."
  • "The booking form is cramped on phones — fix it."

Adding content

  • "Replace the About page text with this: [paste your text]."
  • "Read this Google Doc and turn it into a blog post: [URL]." (requires the Google Drive connector — Claude will tell you if you don't have it)
  • "Read the menu in this photo and add it as a Menu page: [paste image]." (requires sending an image to Claude in your message)
  • "Here's a CSV of my thirty portfolio pieces — turn each into a portfolio page."

Fixing or undoing

  • "Go back to how the headline was before."
  • "Restore yesterday's version."
  • "The Submit button on the contact form doesn't work."
  • "The footer text is too small to read on phones."

Going live

  • "Connect my domain roses-flowers.com to this site."
  • "Check if the-roses-shop.com is available to register."
  • "Update the page title and description for the home page so it ranks for florist san francisco."
